How to make cheap international calls on BT using 08 numbers

0870 International Calls on BT

BT recently announced calls to 0870 numbers will now automatically be included in BT Calling plans and therefore FREE to dial from BT landlines. BT have reserved the right to continue to charge for 0870 numbers used for "indirect access" services. However they have yet to publish a list of any 0870 numbers to be excluded from this offer. Therefore if you have a BT calling plan and as long as they don’t charge you to dial 0870 339 1112, these international calls won’t cost you a penny!

Even if you can’t make free calls to 0870 numbers on your calling plan, chargeable calls are still great value for money. BT’s standard charging policy to call 0870 numbers is advertised as 8p set-up fee and thereafter 5.88p/min daytime or 1.47p/min evenings, so you can still save money on international calls using our 0870 numbers Call charges from other operators may vary.
